Some information

For more information go to https://www.cclondon.com

Started on 17th February 2003.

From the 19 February 2007, the Congestion Charging zone will extend to the west to cover the areas of Bayswater, Notting Hill, North and South Kensington, High Street Kensington, Knightsbridge, Chelsea, Belgravia and Pimlico.

The charging zone operates between 7am - 6.30pm Monday to Friday, excluding Public Holidays

You can pay the £8 charge at any time up to midnight on the day of your journey. You can now pay up until midnight of the following charging day (excluding Saturday & Sunday) but it will cost you £10 and you can only pay via the call centre or the web site.

You can pay by credit or debit card via the website or call centre. You can also pay by cash and cheque, credit and debit cards, at selected newsagents, convenience stores and petrol stations in Greater London. You can pay by credit or debit card at self-service machines at car parks in the zone and other selected locations.

You can pay for more than one day at a time by, for example, paying for a week, for a month or even for a whole year in one transaction.

You can apply for a Fast Track Card to speed up paying your congestion charge. The Fast Track Card is designed to make it quicker and easier to pay the congestion charge. It does this by storing your details, including your vehicle registration number(s), all protected by a PIN number that you choose
• Online – There is a dedicated fast-track login on the congestion charging website.
• Telephone - you will be able to pay your congestion charge automatically by keying in your customer number, PIN, date of travel, and payment details on a touchtone telephone. You can speak to a customer services representative if you prefer.
• Retail - Your card (containing your vehicle registration number) will be swiped, and you will be asked the date(s) you wish to travel, then you pay.

Penalty Charge
If you have not paid the charge by midnight on the following charging day you will be sent a Penalty Charge Notice. The charge is £100. This is reduced to £50 if you pay within 14 calendar days from the date on the notice. Failure to pay the penalty charge within 28 calendar days will incur a penalty of £150.
